We started our celebrating at Fudruckers. Of course getting little mini to eat his food was a challenge in a place like that filled with lots of entertaining lights and video games...
Next we dropped by Old Navy to get him a flag shirt so I he would feel festive on this glorious red, white and blue day.
I told the Mr. it wouldn't be the 4th without visiting the booths at the Freedom Festival. It turned out to be quite fun for the little tyke. They had a bounce house which he just LOVED, and they had all sorts of free crafts going on.
I even decided to butt in and paint a wimpy looking flag on his face, rather then waiting in line for a "professional" (non- professional) artist to do the job.
There were reptiles to view, balloons to blow up, bracelets to make, and a piece of art you could create, which I of course had him participate in (just so I could hang it up in my art room :) )
Then after a long day of events, we bought a couple of day time fireworks +sparklers to try out.

We bought some of those growing snake ones and as soon as we lit it he exclaimed
"Whoa! Poopies!"
Yes, he does have an imagination. That's exactly what they look like!

Carter was excited for the "fire" part. Less excited about the ones that made noise.
(I don't mind a hug)

Then we finished the day watching fireworks with his cousin Maleah.
Needless to say, he had a blast.
